In 1987 Sean W. Gilligan graduated from The George Washington University Law School, with honors. He is licensed to practice in Massachusetts and Connecticut, and focuses on (i) bankruptcy, workouts and turnarounds and (ii) commercial and real estate finance transactions. Throughout his career he has represented multi-national insurance companies, money center and regional banks, non-traditional lenders and closely held companies in all aspects of bankruptcy, recapitalizations, restructurings. He has appeared before bankruptcy courts in numerous jurisdictions, including Massachusetts, Connecticut, New York, Delaware, Illinois, California and Florida. Mr. Gilligan also represents insurance companies, national and local banks and money center institutions in commercial finance and asset based transactions. His real estate finance practice includes securitized loans, commercial mortgage backed securities and multi-property construction to permanent loan facilities. Mr. Gilligan has lectured on bankruptcy, commercial and real estate foreclosures and uniform commercial code issues before clients, trade associations and bar associations. He is an active member in the Turnaround Management Association, American Bankruptcy Institute, Commercial Finance Association and Real Estate Finance Association. He is also a member of the American Bar Association, Boston Bar Association and Connecticut Bar Association. |
