Bill Contente knows the route to success.   As a corporate lawyer and senior partner at Gesmer Updegrove, Bill has provided clients with quality legal advice, practical business guidance and value-added services that drive revenue and increase profitability for 25 years. For hundreds of companies, Bill has negotiated, drafted and closed venture capital financings, angel financings and successful exits, introduced clients to financing sources and “C” level team members, and engaged in strategic discussions to keep clients focused on success. The vast majority of Bill’s clients are emerging companies, from raw start-ups to companies with $50,000,000 in revenues.  With an extensive network, Bill is constantly opening doors and making connections that add to his clients’ capabilities and successes.

Bill serves as Chairman of the Board of Launchpad Venture Group, an angel investment group, and as a board member of the Coolidge Corner Theatre Foundation.  He is Chairman Emeritus of the Lena Park Community Development Corporation and former Managing Partner of Gesmer Updegrove.

When work and family life permit, Bill is a swimmer and photographer.  He’s also a guitar player, but limits his musical aspirations to “playing in a bar band that doesn’t suck.”
