What are your 2017 New Year’s resolutions? Find out here why you should include raising minimum wage of certain employees. As we leave 2016 and enter into 2017, it is important to remember that Massachusetts and 20 other states are slated to increase minimum wage in 2017. Effective January 1, 2017, minimum wage in Massachusetts for non-tipped employees will increase to $11.00 per hour. Gesmer Updegrove’s Joe Laferrera and Christine Lee have prepared a Client Advisory that provides an overview of the specific changes in minimum wage for Massachusetts employees and explains the importance of compliance with Massachusetts’ wage laws. The Advisory can be viewed as a downloadable PDF here.
