Shannon’s experience includes navigating appeals and cancellations and managing digital intellectual property assets with a focus on anti-piracy and infringement actions. Before joining Gesmer Updegrove, she served as a solo practitioner and held in-house positions at two prominent law firms in Chicago and the San Francisco Bay Area. Shannon’s multifaceted background ensures her clients receive thorough and strategic guidance in all intellectual property needs.
Her practice includes thorough due diligence to identify potential risks and opportunities in IP transactions, acquisitions, and mergers. Shannon is adept at clearance and mark analysis, ensuring clients can confidently move forward with their branding and marketing strategies. Additionally, she provides ongoing support and guidance in enforcing and defending clients’ IP rights, including handling disputes and litigation as needed.
Shannon enjoys spending her free time with her husband and two children, exploring historic locations, and traveling to exciting destinations – especially if they require a passport.
